With a population of over 1.8 million inhabitants, Hamburg is the second most populous city in Germany and seventh most populous city in the European Union. Hamburg is well known for its Port, which is the third largest port in Europe and ninth largest port in the world. Hamburg's history dates back to medieval Hanseatic League and free imperial city of Roman Empire. Hamburg, a major transportation hub in the northern Germany, is a major media and industrial center with the factories of the world giants of the likes Airbus, Aurubis (largest copper producer in Europe) and Blohm & Voss, a German Shipbuilding and Engineering Company.





In addition to a major industrial hub, Hamburg is also an important tourist place, which receives over 7।7 million international visitors every year. Due to its proximity to coastal areas, the climate of Hamburg is temperate oceanic climate.
