With a population of 667,000, Frankfurt is the fifth largest city of Germany. Frankfurt am Main or simply Frankfurt is in the State of Hesse and it is different from another smaller city with the same name, which is the State of Brandenburg. That is why, the Germans sometimes call Frankfurt by its official name to distinguish it from the smaller Frankfurt City. However, for all the foreigners, Frankfurt refers to the main Frankfurt City. Average temperatures are in the range of 30 degrees and winters are mild.




In the eastern regions, the climate is more of continental with severe cold season, hot summers and long period of dry weather. Central and southern parts of Germany vary from moderately oceanic to continental. Although the climate varies depending upon the region and it varies vastly due to its vast geographical regions but in general, the weather in Germany tends to be pleasant and mild throughout the year.
